The motor mount inserts will help, but with the inserts and street tires I would still get significant wheel hop. Since I got a set of drag radials, I no longer have wheel hop with the inserts in.

I believe the radius arms eliminate flex out of the front suspension by tying together the cross member and LCAs, etc. I've never used them though.

Call me cheap, but if those motor mount inserts dont help you out, just try disconnecting one endlink on the front swaybar. It worked for me, but the inserts took away 95% of the hop(and my hop was so bad i was pulling out inner c/v joints ).

Good luck,
Tony

Just wanted to give people a heads up on some new products which Dynospot Racing has produced which will help with your traction problems.

The traction bar system is made of 4130 chromoly and the end brackets are CNC cut. The total weight of the traction system is 12lbs.

As for the rear spindle mount straight axle system, the main bar is 4130 chromoly, the caliper brackets are CNC 304 stainless steal, and the kit uses Strange calipers & rotors with Weld Aluma Star wheels. The shocks are QA1 sportman shocks with QA1 springs. This seems to be a great alternative to other spindle mount systems on the market.

For more information I would suggest contacting Dynospot Racing at (408) 271-9800.

Here's a few pictures of the products listed above and pictures of the units in work at the NHRA Vegas event:

DynoSpot Racing is also designing custom tube chassis frames, steering columns, roll cages, wheelie bars, etc... The great advantage with using Dynospot Racing's products is that all of the products are designed and custom built for maximum gains in weight recuduction, strength, quality, etc... which is a HUGE factor with Pro Drag Racing and track racing. All of the products are tested on professional racing cars, then if the gain is worth while the product is then sold to consumers.
I'll keep you guys up dated with new devlopments and products being offered.

Sorry, this may be off-topic...

I read about several solutions for wheel hop:
- motor mount inserts (or completely new ones)
- Radius arms

I understand the motor mount trick- I was shocked to see what the engine does on the Dyno if you suddenly go from idle to WOT!

But how do radius arms help preventing wheel hop? I cannot see how they prevent the engine from swinging in its soft rubber suspension.

Thanks,

Mark.

I appreciate the hardware available for pro racers, but what can I add to my Integra that I use for occasional weekend drag racing to minimize wheelhop???

I have 205/50/50's, KYB AGX 4 position adjustables (set to #1 for the street), a front tower bar, and ES inserts. (no LSD)

Will changing the shock settings minimize the hop? It's not gut-wrenching but to keep the car from breaking I'd rather spin tires than slam the wheels up and down.

Thanks for the help,
Chuck

The above front traction bar setup works great on street cars. Many people use the traction bar setup on the street and have great results.

Changing the shock settings will not really help with wheel hop. Shock settings will only help once you get the wheel hopping fixed.

Just give the shop a call for more details and price on the kit.

I thought I remember Holden saying that putting in an LSD helped a lot with wheel hop . . .

I know this might sound kind of dumb, but what does a traction bar do? Does it bind or minimize the springs from compressing? How much does this cost? Is there chatter or clinging coming from the actual traction bar? Is it subject to scrapes and bending? Is it hard to put on? Sorry for all the questions just saying things that pop into my mind about this product.
